Position

Partner and head of environment group. Widely recognised as a leading practitioner in environment law and also has wide ranging experience of complementary areas of public law, including town and country planning, compulsory purchase, highways and health and safety. Experience includes contaminated land, water and air pollution, nature conservation, waste management, integrated pollution control, flood defence, water storage and abstraction, emissions trading, environmental taxation and corporate social responsibility. Recent work includes advising on the development of various flood alleviation schemes; on the upgrading of a regional water transfer scheme; on the promotion of a new winter recharge reservoir; on obtaining consents for a waste recycling plant and gravel extraction operation and on proposals for nuclear power stations and wind farms.
