Position
All aspects of intellectual property law and practice, and technical commercial disputes, in particular registered IPRs and the related unregistered rights. Over 80 reported cases since 2000, of which over two thirds were appeals or judicial reviews. He has been instructed by the UK Intellectual Property Office: eg he acted for the Comptroller General of Patents in Yeda Research (HLs, CA and PatCt), the Registrar of Trade Marks in General Cigars and Land Securities (both appeals to the ChD), and the UK Government in adidas (ECJ). He has acted in numerous appeals from OHIM to the General Court (ex CFI) and the Court of Justice, and Article 267 references (ex Art 234) (over 30 in total). He has appeared before both the Legal and Technical Boards of Appeal in the EPO. Extensive copyright, and registered design and design right (both UK and Community) practice.
