Position

Barrister practising in England and Wales, and Western Australia, specialising in international and domestic family law and medical ethics, including private law children’s cases, jurisdiction in matrimonial and children’s cases, recognition and enforcement of orders, conflicts of laws, child abduction, relocation and other international children’s cases, contempts, families and the media (freedom of expression and press injunctions), families and human rights and disputes about medical treatment. Career

Called 1975; Middle Temple; solicitor 1980; family lawyer in the Official Solicitor’s Office and head of child abduction unit 1983-98; QC 2006. Publications include: ‘The New Brussels II Regulation’ (Family Law, 2005); ‘International Movement of Children – Law, Practice and Procedure’ (Family Law, 2004); ‘The Human Rights Act 1998 – A Special Bulletin for Family Lawyers’; ‘Children and Brussels II’; contributed to ‘Consent, Rights and Choices in Healthcare for Children and Young People’ (BMA, 2001).
