Position

Fraud and serious organised crime. Current and recent cases include the British Airways price fixing case, R. v George [2010] EWCA Crim 1148 (cartel offence does not require reciprocal dishonesty), R. v IB [2009] WLR 357 (cartel offence is not a ‘national competition law’), R. v Whittle and others (the marine hose cartel), R v. Briggs-Price [2009] UKHL 19 (proving benefit in confiscation proceedings), Operation Victor (medicines), Operation Inertia (MTIC), Operation Fastback (MTIC), Operation Rust (diversion fraud), R. v Stockall [2009] EWCA Crim 1159/1897 (heroin importation: fresh evidence appeal), Operation Snorkel (cannabis importation), R. v Wilkinson (manufacture and distribution of machine guns) and HMRC v Financial Investment Advisers [2009] Lloyds Rep FC 221 (costs of complying with production orders).
