Position
Sarah is a member of Chambers’ Insurance and Commercial Divisions and has particular interest in claims containing a personal injury element. She acts for claimants and defendants in equal measure and is the preferred counsel of a number of domestic and international retailers. She is panel-approved by a number of UK insurers for personal injury, professional risk, disease, fraud, emergency services and policy-dispute work. She also represents injured members of the British Cycling Federation and the British Triathlon Federation. Sarah continues to build her commercial practice with a focus on consumer credit litigation. She is an effective trial advocate and offers a pleadings service in all her practice areas, including high-value multi-track claims. She also provides advice on liability, quantum and tactics and is happy to draft schedules, questions to experts, witness statements and applications. Her approachable and reassuring style also makes her popular with lay-clients and witnesses. Sarah joined Chambers from Hill Dickinson LLP, where she was head of the in-house counsel and advocacy team, and is experienced in working closely and effectively with solicitors, insurance companies and multinational corporations to provide practical and commercial legal advice. She has a rapid turnaround of instructions and is happy to be consulted by email, telephone, videoconference and on client premises. Career
Qualified 2002, Sarah joined Hardwicke in 2009 from Hill Dickinson LLP, where she was head of the in-house counsel and advocacy team. Having worked alongside and closely with solicitors, international corporations and insurance companies, Sarah has an understanding of the legal and business requirements of clients. She has a rapid turnaround of instructions and is happy to be consulted by email, telephone, video-conference and on client premises. Sarah is particularly interested in accidents involving motorcyclists (being a keen motorcyclist herself) and has intricate knowledge of all aspects of retail-based claims. She provides representation at trial, mediation and settlement hearings, case management conferences, CRU appeal hearings, applications, inquests and infant settlements. Sarah offers a pleadings service in all her practice areas, including high-value multi-track claims. She also provides advice on liability, quantum and tactics and is happy to draft schedules, questions to experts, witness statements and applications.
