Position
Practices in all areas of family law with a particular emphasis on the international movement of children (including child abduction). He has appeared in many of the recent leading international cases involving children in the last few years, including the House of Lords decision of Re M (abduction: Zimbabwe) [2008] 1 FLR 215, where he represented the successful appellant mother; the Supreme Court decision of Re I (a child) (contact application: jurisdiction) [2010] 1 FLR 361, where he represented the successful appellant mother, and the European Court of Human Rights decision of Carlson v Switzerland, ECHR, November 2008, where he represented the successful appellant father. Career
Called 2001, Middle Temple. Was previously a member of the editorial board of ‘Counsel’ magazine. Has contributed a number of articles to ‘Family Law’. Author of the chapter on children abduction in ‘Child Case Management Practice’ (general editor, The Hon. Mr Justice Ryder (Jordans, February 2009).
