Position
Oliver has appeared in many major health and safety and regulatory cases, including the prosecution arising out of the Hatfield train crash and the litigation arising from the Potters Bar disaster. He has considerable experience of product liability claims involving a wide variety of products, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food and drink, electrical equipment and petrochemicals. He has also appeared in many environmental claims and group actions.
Career
Called 1992; awarded advocacy prize by the Inns of Court School of Law; finalist in the Observer Mace debating competition, competing for Middle Temple; former president of the Oxford Union; publications: contributor to Halsbury’s Laws; editor of the Personal Injury section of ‘The Lawyer’s Factbook’ (Sweet & Maxwell); assistant editor of ‘The International Product Law Manual’.
