Steve specialises in and is experienced in regulatory criminal matters and personal injury litigation and was called to the Bar having been a respected solicitor for 12 years. His principal fields of practice include health and safety and road traffic prosecutions, personal injury, fatal accidents inquiries, professional negligence and insurance litigation. As part of his regulatory crime practice, Steve regularly appears for the accused in both health and safety and Road Traffic Act prosecutions. He has represented the interests of companies served with improvement notices in terms of HSW A 1974. In his personal injury practice, in which he acts for both pursuers and defenders, Steve has considerable experience in dealing with catastrophic injury and clinical negligence claims.


Called 2001; accredited mediator 2006; Steve has spoken at a number of events organised by Central Law Training and provides advocacy training. He is an instructor on the Faculty of Advocates’ foundation course for new advocates.
