Position
Alex practises primarily in administrative law, with planning and immigration-based judicial reviews comprising the bulk of his work. Alex has worked on some of the leading cases in immigration-based administrative law this year in the European Court of Human Rights, the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the High Court. R (WL (Congo) 1 and 2 and KM (Jamaica)) v SSHD [2010] EWCA Civ 111. Over the past 12 months, Alex has acted in an eclectic range of administrative law work, covering the conduct of elections; statutory nuisance hearings in the Magistrates Courts; compulsory purchase powers; footpath registration; and freedom of information. The Queen on the Application of Letchworth Garden Heritage Foundation v (1) The Returning Officer for the District of North Hertfordshire (2) The Chairman of the Paris Meeting of Letchworth Garden City [2009] EWHC 841 (Admin).
