Position

Civil and commercial litigation including banking, financial services, insurance, civil fraud and professional negligence. 

Much of his recent work has been related to derivatives (interest rate, currency and credit), including mis-selling claims and LIBOR/EURIBOR litigation, including the landmark Property Alliance Group v RBS litigation (both at trial and in the Court of Appeal), Deutsche Bank v Unitech and Marme v RBS, and Wall v RBS (a substantial claim arising out of an aborted capital markets transaction, one of the Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2017). Frequent appellate work including PAG v RBS, WW Properties v RBS (duty of care in relation to FCA agreed review of hedging products) and Barclays v ENPAM (jurisdiction). Various international arbitrations, including $1.4 billion dispute between GMR and the Government of the Maldives over Malé international airport.

Winner of “Banking Junior of the Year” at the Chambers and Partners 2017 Bar Awards (having been shortlisted for the same award in 2016).

Career

Called 2007, Lincoln’s Inn; research assistant common and commercial law team, Law Commission 2004-05; Teaching Fellow, University College London in contract (2006-07) and conflict of laws (2004-05).
