Position
Barrister specialising in commercial and civil litigation and arbitration, including banking, civil fraud, professional negligence and insurance. Significant cases include: Hollywood Funding (film finance) litigation; Marks and Spencer plc v Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (High Court and CA); British Sugar v Babbini [2005], 1 Lloyd’s Rep 332; Das v Barclays Bank ?plc [2006] EWHC 817; Econet Wireless Ltd v Vee Networks Limited [2006], 2 Lloyd’s Rep 428; ESS v VNL [2006], 2 Lloyd’s Rep 423. Currently acting for one of the defendants in the BITEL proceedings in the ?Isle of Man, a substantial civil fraud claim involving the disputed ownership of a Kyrgyzstan mobile telephone company. Also acting for Lloyds TSB in the bank charges litigation (OFT v Abbey National Plc & Ors).
