Position

Bridget has a broad practice spanning commercial and chancery litigation and arbitration. A significant part of her practice relates to offshore litigation with a particular emphasis on company and insolvency proceedings and civil fraud. She acted as lead Counsel in the Cayman Islands’ litigation relating to Ahmad Hamad Algosaibi and Brothers Company v Saad Investments Company Ltd, and appeared for successful Defendants in the year long trial. She has also advised in various cases in the British Virgin Islands, Guernsey and Jersey, including allegations relating to breach of duty and misrepresentation in fund management disputes. She acts in limited liability partnership, minority shareholder and joint venture disputes (including in the telecoms and energy sectors); disputes involving directors’ duties, and misfeasance; disqualification proceedings, and litigation arising out of investments (including allegations of misrepresentation and breach of warranty). She regularly advises on insolvency and regulatory matters (including in the solicitors and the financial services sector). Her practice includes cross-border merger applications, and insurance business transfer schemes.

Michael Green QC, who is also called to the Trinidadian Bar, represents Nanfong International Investments in a cross-border defence of a winding-up petition; he has been admitted to the Samoan Bar to handle the case there following success in a jurisdiction battle in the Caymanian Court of Appeal. Elsewhere, Bridget Lucas QC represented the "AwalCos" as defendants in the AHAB v Saad, a case in which more than two million documents were disclosed.
