In the last four years the leading directories have said that Charles Miskin QC is ‘tough and formidable’, ‘a persuasive advocate’, ‘meticulous and always gives sound advice in the client’s best interest’, ‘a good man to use if your back is against the wall’, ‘a fantastic intellect’ and that he can ‘take a case that is utterly hopeless and turn it around’. Whilst maintaining a practice in really serious crime, recently appearing for the defence of the killer of the junior partner of a solicitor’s firm contracted by the senior partner and whilst having a strong track record in environmental crime, appellate, regulatory and tribunal work his principal focus is fraud, particularly tax fraud. Charles Miskin QC has had a role in many of the recent major income tax cases; he is prosecuting the largest ever direct tax case and defending two of the largest VAT cases. He is an expert in the field of international restraint. He recently appeared in the Supreme Court against the FSA. He is instructed in a very high profile bribery matter. Charles Miskin QC is industrious, innovative and imaginative and maintains his sense of humour.
