Position
Specialising in financial fraud and commercial, regulatory and enforcement, health and safety, serious crime and inquests. Financial fraud and commercial: many years experience as leading junior (since 2001) and junior in investment, commercial, diversion, tax, and identity fraud in lengthy, high-value and complex cases involving professionals. Regulatory and enforcement: contested High Court and Crown Court confiscation proceedings including Judicial Review and Court of Appeal (Criminal Division), review of confiscation orders and proceedings relating to High Court Receivers and Certificates of Inadequacy. Health and safety and serious crime: gross negligence manslaughter and proceedings under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Innumerable murders, attempted murders and manslaughter. Appellate work: regularly instructed direct by the Registrar of Criminal Appeals and in the Administrative Court on a variety of topics and in particular conduct of counsel and legal advisors. Significant cases include: Operation Whitehouse (2005-08), Re Clearsearch Ltd (2007), Operation Horizon (2006-07), Re Free Dot Net 2006 and Re MML Ltd 2005.
