Position
Partner in the employment group. He advises employers in many industry sectors including financial services, particularly private equity and venture capital, media and technology, business process outsourcing, real estate and real estate funds, manufacturing, wholesaling and the energy sector. Blair advises many international clients and is recognised for his ability to give pragmatic, commercial advice on UK employment law and for advising on cross-jurisdictional matters such as pan-European change and downsizing exercises. He has a great deal of experience in advising on the employment aspects of transactions and has particular expertise in the area of TUPE. Blair advises on employment disputes, including litigation in the Employment Tribunals and the High Court, and counsel senior executives on their employment arrangements. He also advises on partnership matters. Clients include: Corel Corporation – software development; ITT Corporation – industrial conglomerate; ISIS Equity Partners, CCMP Capital Advisors, DFJ Esprit, Parish Capital Advisors – private equity; 24/7 Customer Inc – global business process outsourcing; Valad Property Group – real estate fund management and investment; Winery Exchange – wine production (California based); Palmer & Harvey – distribution and wholesale; O’Melveny & Myers – law firm. During the past year Blake has advised a number of senior executives on their employment including Mr Sadeq Sayeed, former CEO-EMEA of global investment bank Nomura.
