Position
Head of the public sector group and a partner within the employment group. In her role as head of public sector group she leads the multi-disciplinary team which has grown significantly over the last three years. She also manages a number of the firm’s key client relationships and has developed a good understanding of the constraints within which public sector organisations work. She deals with a wide range of employment law issues for employers, mainly within the public sector including the London Boroughs of Croydon and Southwark, Crawley Borough Council, Medway Council, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea TMO and The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. She provides advice at both a strategic and operational level and works closely with both in-house legal and HR teams as well as client departments. She has a particular interest in discrimination claims, having handled a number of multi-day and multi-respondent discrimination cases in the Employment Tribunal for local authorities and other public sector organisations. She appears regularly as an advocate in the Employment Tribunal. She frequently advises clients on TUPE issues and has vast experience in advising transferees, transferors and Councils on this complex area and also defending TUPE claims in the Tribunal. She delivers in-house training to clients and is regularly invited to speak at seminars and conferences.
