Position
Lexa Hilliard QC is a well-respected commercial chancery silk with a strong expertise in domestic and international insolvency, general commercial and company litigation, professional negligence and civil fraud. Between 1990 and 2011, she practised from 3-4 South Square, another leading London set. She was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2009 and is a CEDR accredited mediator. She often acts in cases arising out of large domestic or international corporate restructurings or insolvencies such as Lehman Brothers, Madoff Securities International Ltd; Enron; Woolworths, Land of Leather and Farepak. Her expertise in conflicts of laws and jurisdictional disputes is very relevant in such cases. At the same time Lexa frequently acts in cases involving civil fraud, professional negligence, banking, contractual disputes and breaches of fiduciary duty. Recently she represented a large number of individuals in the Buncefield litigation in a negligence claim against major oil companies.
