Position

Barrister specialising in construction, insurance, professional negligence and general commercial litigation and dispute resolution both in the UK and internationally. In addition to drafting and advisory work, regularly appears as advocate both in court (particularly the TCC) and before other tribunals, either alone or with leading counsel. Reported cases include Inframatrix Investments v Dean Construction [2012] EWCA Civ 64, [2012] 2 All ER (Comm) 337, 140 Con LR 59, 28 Const LJ 438, [2012] CILL 3145 (construction of contractual limitation clause); Harrison & ors v Shepherd Homes [2011] EWHC 1811 (TCC), 27 Const LJ 709 (construction law – contractual duties of homebuilder, duty under the Defective Premises Act, notice under NHBC Buildmark, diminution in value of houses as a result of defective piled foundations); Liberty Syndicate Management v Campagna [2011] EWHC 209 (TCC), 27 Const LJ 275 (professional negligence – latent defects insurance, scope of duty owed by technical auditors); OSC Building Services v Interior Dimensions Contracts [2009] EWHC 248 (TCC), [2009] CILL 2688 (construction adjudication – whether adjudicator exceeded his jurisdiction and whether respondent had submitted to a wider jurisdiction by engaging in the adjudication without protest); Allen Wilson Joinery v Privetgrange Construction [2008] EWHC 2802 (TCC), [2008] All ER (D) 146, [2009] TCLR 1, 123 Con LR 1 (construction adjudication – implied terms, contract in writing within s107 of the HGCRA).
