Position

Richard practises in all the core areas of Chambers’ work, with a particular emphasis on construction law, professional negligence and insurance litigation. Richard has substantial experience in the County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, both in his own cases, and as junior counsel. Richard also has a strong practice in property damage litigation, particularly fire-related claims involving technical expert evidence. Richard also acts as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations, particularly in connection with construction, engineering, infrastructure and energy projects and related insurance disputes. Richard is also a member of Chambers’ costs team and has appeared in the Senior Courts Costs Office acting for parties in detailed assessment hearings. Richard acts for both claimants and defendants, and accepts instructions on a conditional fee basis. Richard was recently awarded a distinction in the Kings College MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution, and was awarded the Kings College Construction Law Association Prize and the Arbitration Club Phillip Ranner Prize.
