Position
Specialises in fraud and general crime. He prosecutes and defends in equal measure. In the last year he has acted in fraud, corruption and insider dealing cases, murder and manslaughter cases and VAT cases in the First Tier Tax Tribunal. He has acted for a number of high profile individuals including George Michael and the Premiership footballer, Calum Davenport. He is presently instructed in cases involving allegations of international corruption in the Oil and Gas industry, large scale arms trafficking, insider dealing, direct tax evasion and VAT evasion.
Career
Called 1983; Standing Counsel to HM Customs and Excise 1996-2001; QC 2001; Bencher of Gray’s Inn 2004; Recorder of the Crown Court 2007. A regular advocacy trainer at Gray’s Inn and has assisted in setting up advocacy training programmes in Trinidad and Tobago and Jersey.
