Position

Alastair is instructed in serious and complicated cases of fraud, violence and organised crime as well as regulatory matters of particular complexity or public interest.  He receives instructions from leading defence firms, major prosecuting authorities and local authorities nationwide.  Alastair is on the CPS and SFO prosecution panel lists.

Alastair’s criminal practice involves acting for defendants in white-collar fraud allegations and large-scale conspiracies relating to drugs, firearms or money laundering.  A specialist in dealing with complex expert/forensic evidence he has established a reputation for meticulous preparation and detailed analysis of evidence alongside powerful and persuasive advocacy.

In regulatory practice Alastair has been instructed to act and advise in a number of high-profile and complex regulatory cases covering a wide range of areas from FCA investigations to planning and environmental enforcement.  He is a specialist in cases involving fatalities/serious injury arising from breaches of health and safety legislation and has acted in cases involving Soho Theatre Group, Kettners (Pizza Express), W H Smith and 2 Sisters Food Group Ltd.
