Position

Tom Hoskins specialises in prosecuting and defending serious crime and professional disciplinary matters.  As well as the full panoply of criminal cases commensurate with his call, Tom is a seasoned white collar crime and Proceeds of Crime Act practitioner.  He possesses significant experience in all aspects of confiscation, cash detention and forfeiture, as well as civil recovery cases under POCA.  Tom’s work has a distinct international flavour, having worked in the United States for a firm specialising in international anti-corruption matters across multiple jurisdictions under the UK Bribery Act and the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and as counsel appointed to the Serious Fraud Office list.

Tom is also an accomplished advocate in professional disciplinary tribunals, particularly in the healthcare sector.  He has built up extensive experience acting both for regulators and registrants facing disciplinary action.  Tom’s work in this arena encompasses the most complex, lengthy and high profile cases and includes appellate experience before the High Court.  It is for good reason that he is regarded as the ‘go-to’ external counsel by Europe’s largest professional regulator.
