Position

Since 1997 has specialised in construction, engineering, PFI/PPP, energy and similar disputes. Considerable experience in related claims involving professional negligence as well as bonds and guarantees. Has worked on disputes concerning projects in over 50 jurisdictions, most of which were governed by the local law. Experienced advocate from the English Court of Appeal to arbitration venues around the world. Arbitrator who has sat in ICC, SCC, DIAC and ad hoc arbitrations. Significant cases include: Hackney Empire v Aviva (guarantees/termination under JCT Conditions); Lukoil v Barclays & Doosan v MABE (both concerning on-demand bonds); ISG v Seevic (pay less notices); Deluxe v Beck (concurrent adjudications before the same adjudicator); and Al-Waddan v MAN (no functioning Engineer under FIDIC Conditions).
