Boult Wade Tennant grows the Trade Mark and Domain Names team with six new professionals

November 2014

Boult Wade Tennant has announced six new appointments in the Trade Mark and Domain Names Group to support an increased level of instruction. Following these appointments the substantial trade mark practice will comprise 22 trade mark professionals, who will assist clients in a wide range of trade mark and brand related issues, both contentious and non-contentious, including: the selection, protection, management, defence and enforcement of trademarks; anti-counterfeiting and take-downs; surveillance of brands, domain name disputes; the protection and enforcement of designs; advice in connection with copyright and other IP-related areas.

One hire notably is a direct result of the firm's first summer vacation scheme. This voluntary week-long programme was devised to give participants an insight into what the job of an IP attorney entails. The scheme was a mixture of presentations, seminars, one-to-ones and social events, and run across offices and all groups.

John Wallace, Managing Partner and Head of Group comments: "The recent appointments cover the full bandwidth of skills from paralegal to fully qualified attorney. This will bolster the team's capability and further enable us to provide the most relevant group of professionals, at exactly the right level for our clients. It will also mean we have increased our flexibility to change teams to suit clients exact needs at any time."

Emma Pitcher, a senior Partner in the team said: "For several years now the number of complex, multi-jurisdictional cases has been growing. These exciting new appointments reflect and affirm our role as a leading UK IP firm."
