Position
David Roy (partner) leads the Birmingham office and heads the business defence department in Birmingham. He has over 20 years’ experience specialising in heavyweight and high-profile cases (eg the Kieren Fallon horse race-fixing trial). David was mentioned in ‘The Legal 500’ 2010 as ‘very capable’. R v S (Birmingham CC – multimillion-pound VAT invoicing fraud following the collapse of a major high-street menswear chain, client cleared following successful abuse of process argument; R v S (Old Bailey/Central London Criminal Court) – high-profile trial involving several-times champion jockey Kieren Fallon involving alleged race fixing, client cleared following successful submission of no case to answer; R v O (Worcester CC) – DEFRA prosecution of multimillion-pound conspiracy to defraud involving the alleged misdescription of battery produced eggs as free range, client avoided conviction; R v M (Snaresbrook CC) – million-pound NHS procurement fraud, prosecution forced to offer no evidence against principal defendant.
