Criminal defence and specialist road traffic.
Position
Partner in charge of the Leicester office and specialist partner in the road traffic department. All areas of general criminal defence, up to and including complex drugs cases, sexual offences and murder. Specialities in road traffic law include saving clients’ driving licences, excess alcohol, speeding, and dangerous and careless driving, including fatalities. Runner-up for Leicestershire Law Society’s solicitor of the year award 2009.
Career
An unconventional route into law. At 16, went into industry and had very successful career, decided to plan for an alternative future. Undertook a law degree as a mature student over four years. Trained Spearing Waite; qualified 1998; associate solicitor Scutt Beaumont Solicitors 2001; partner 2004; started criminal specialist practice which merged with Cartwright King 2007,

Leisure
Fundraising for cancer charities – organised an event for 450 in aid of LOROS, a local hospice. Enjoys travelling and going out with friends.
