Company and commercial, EU and competition.

Position

Competition law (both UK and EU) and EU law including European funding, anti-dumping and state aid. Acted on the first ever dawn raid under the Competition Act 1998 (the Leeds Cartel Case, acting for Arriva). Compliance work for Nike, CE Electric, Go-Ahead, Arriva and Formica. Panel appointments for Coca Cola, Transco and Scottish & Newcastle. Currently working on investigations in the transport market, utilities market and the construction sector. Current merger clearances include a parallel merger clearance and the clearance of a plc takeover by way of a Court Scheme of Appointment. State aid work this year has grown exponentially and includes assessments for nine new public/private funds together with assessments in relation to state and intervention rates and Regional Growth Fund applications.
