Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP was formed in November 2017 after Bond Dickinson LLP and US-based Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice merged. As part of a larger operation, the UK commercial team (which is spread across six offices) acts for more than 250 listed companies. In addition to the merger, the commercial contracts practice is gaining momentum in other respects, as was evidenced by the firm's appointment in 2017 to tier one of the Crown Commercial Services legal panel, and also its successful appointment to BT's revamped UK and Ireland legal panel. In addition, Caroline Churchill and Rachel Scott made partner. The firm is active across a wide range of sectors, with particular strengths in chemicals, manufacturing, retail, transport and financial services (including insurance). Practice head Paula Bartlett, and managing associates Kate Steel and Sarah Roast, are part of the team which is acting for Post Office Limited in the highly-publicised Network Transformation Programme, while legal director Jonathan Stickland is advising Kingfisher Plc on the English law contracts associated with a five-year plan to unify its home improvement brands. Peter Snaith and legal director Lucy Pringle are other notable practitioners in the group.
