Position

Tim is a Corporate Partner who is highly regarded for his extensive transactional mergers and acquisitions and private equity experience, acting for clients across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the US.

He regularly acts for large corporate vendors/purchasers; private equity funders/institutions; banks and management teams on a wide range of domestic and cross-border corporate transactions. 

These include acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts, secondary buyouts, development capital investments, exits and debt/equity reorganisations/restructurings/re-financings.  Tim brings a mixture of technical excellence and commerciality to any transaction he leads.

He is client relationship partner for clients such as Altrad; Bromford Industries; Elan Homes; GKN; Hill & Smith; Outcomes First Group and Watkin Jones Group.

Tim advises global corporates including Alstom; Blom; Bridgestone; bet365.com; Finning, H&M Hennes & Mauritz; Huber+Suhner; Kelda Group; KTM; Lotus Bakeries; Mondelez; National Grid; Staples; Swissport; Suez Water Technologies & Solutions and William Hill and international institutions including Barclays Bank;  Iberia Industry Capital; LDC; Livingbridge; Lloyds Bank; NFT Ventures; Permira; Risk Capital Partners; Sovereign Capital Partners; The Co-Operative Bank; The Royal Bank of Scotland and Vespa Capital.

  • Sentencing guidelines for corporate manslaughter

    In February 2010 the Sentencing Guidelines Council (the SGC) issued definitive guidelines to courts on imposing appropriate sentences for corporate manslaughter and health and safety offences causing death. The SGC states that fines imposed on companies found guilty of corporate manslaughter should not fall below £500,000, while fines in respect of health and safety offences that are a significant cause of death should be at least £100,000. Crucially, the SGC declined to provide for a fixed link between the imposed fine and the turnover or profitability of the offending company.
