Andrew L. Oringer is co-chair of Dechert’s ERISA and Executive Compensation group, and leads the firm’s national fiduciary practice in New York. He counsels clients on their employee benefit plans and programs, benefits-related tax matters and fiduciary issues arising in connection with the investment of employee benefit plan assets.

The team at Dechert LLP is co-chaired by David Jones in Philadelphia and Andrew Oringer, the latter of whom advises on ERISA matters for clients including Credit Suisse Securities, Actua, Cerebus Capital Management and FMC. Oringer also leverages his fiduciary Title 1 expertise, acting as primary counsel to a client roster of investment banks and managers, mutual funds and trust companies regarding changes to the DOL’s fiduciary rule (and subsequent repeal). Having recently joined from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, Steven Rabitz brings even more experience to the team’s ERISA practice and is instructed by clients from the investment management sector. The team at Dechert LLP was recently strengthened by the addition of fiduciary compliance and prohibited transaction expert Steven Rabitz, who joined the New York office from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. Rabitz and executive compensation expert Andrew Oringer acts for a number of global financial services firms in fund structuring mandates and related issues requiring compliance with ERISA fiduciary standards. Co-head David Jones sits in the Philadelphia office alongside Eric Rubin, and advises public and private corporations, private equity investors and hedge funds on 280A and 409A tax compliance issues in the context of M&A. Standout transactions include acting for Actua Corporation in its $549m aggregate subsidiary sale, and advising Differential Brands Group on the $1.4bn majority acquisition of Hong Kong-listed licensing business Global Brands Group Holding. New York-based Stephen W Skonieczny is another name to note. Additional clients include Court Square Capital Partners, Credit Suisse Securities, FMC Corporation and Cerberus Capital Management.
