Luca Pocobelli is a partner in Dentons’ Rome office.

Luca has comprehensive experience in M&A and private equity, general corporate representation and real estate, as well as in advising clients on the participation in competitive bids, spin-offs and de-merger proceedings, drafting and negotiating, on either the seller or buyer side, sale and purchase, joint venture and shareholders’ agreements, transfer of going concerns and commercial contracts.

He also has extensive experience advising major Italian and international operators in connection with all aspects of real estate transactions, including the purchase or sale of real estate portfolios, the establishment of real estate funds or joint ventures in connection with real estate deals and the negotiation of real estate commercial contracts.

Furthermore, he has advised several major clients in large deals in the hospitality and leisure sector, and has gained considerable experience in banking group restructuring and debt rescheduling transactions.


Luca Pocobelli joined Dentons in 2016 from Latham & Watkins, where he was a counsel since 2008. Prior to that, he was an associate at Bonelli Erede Pappalardo. In 2006, he was a visiting foreign lawyer at Latham & Watkins’ New York office. Between 2000 and 2002, he acted as external consultant of the Italian Authority for the supervision of public contracts for works, services and supplies. Previously, he was an associate at Negri Clementi Toffoletto Montironi e Associati (NCTM).

Dentons’s practice spans advice on the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, private equity investments, and the setting up and structuring of joint ventures; it also assists with mergers, de-mergers, spin-offs, and corporate reorganisations. Recent work includes advising GeoPost on its entry into Italy’s express courier market, through the acquisition of a minority stake of BRT. Stefano Speroni heads the corporate and M&A department, which also includes the ‘hard-workingPier Francesco Faggiano, Luca Pocobelli, Alessandro Dubini and of counsel Aian Abbas. Carsten Steinhauer was a new arrival in January 2019 from McDermott Will & Emery Studio Legale Associato.
