Career

Donato's practice focuses on cross-border financing transactions for major financial institutions, development banks, multilateral and bilateral development agencies, foreign banks and institutional lenders. He drafts and reviews credit agreements, structures and drafts collateral agreements and guarantees, and performs due diligence.

Additionally, his practice area covers renewable energy. He advises clients operating or investing in Costa Rica  on power purchase agreements; energy finance, contracts and licensing matters; acquisitions of energy projects with an emphasis on wind power. Donato also promotes and joins efforts to improve distributed energy generation regulations.

Donato also counsels nonprofit organizations and is currently the legal advisor to the Costa Rican Solar Energy Association’s (ACESOLAR) board of directors. Other nonprofits he has worked with include FUNDECOR, HIVOS-BUNCA and CATIE.
