Position

Specialist areas are professional indemnity, insurance and reinsurance, and directors’ and officers’ disputes. Trials include: Murray v YFM and others [1997] (Court of Appeal – duty of confidentiality); Alliots v Reynard [2001] (accountants’ duty of care to give advice on commercial issues); Campden Hill Ltd v Chakrani and others [2005] (solicitors’ deceit/tracing); Equitas v Horace Holman [2007] (brother’s duty to account); Hibbert Pownall Newton v Whitehead and others [2008] (Court of Appeal – irrecoverability of losses caused not by delayed litigation but by client’s suicide, loss of chance). Nouri v Marvi [2010] (Court of Appeal – limitation in conveyancing transaction). Has given evidence on client’s behalf in Horace Holman claim and in Zurich v Karim [2006] (solicitors’ PI coverage dispute). Experienced in ADR techniques, especially mediation.
