Position
Managing director specialising in serious fraud and professional disciplinary cases. He also heads the firm’s regulatory department. John’s fraud defence work includes high-value SFO corruption and FSA insider dealing cases and he has been successfully involved in a number of important cases – including SFO’s Balfour Beatty and BAE corruption investigations. John has an extensive background in professional disciplinary and regulatory work. He receives instructions from the MDU (Medical Defence Union) in defence of doctors in coroner’s hearings, GMC proceedings, internal disciplinary proceedings and criminal investigations, represents the UCA (United Chiropractic Association) in relation to regulatory matters, and also acts for individual chiropractors in disciplinary proceedings before the GCC. On the prosecution side, John receives regular instructions from the ARB (Architects Registration Board) and was appointed as the independent solicitor to represent the Metropolitan Police Authority in the high-profile disciplinary proceedings against former Metropolitan Police Commander Ali Dizaei, the first of its kind against a senior officer.
