Position
Peter is a partner and head of Capsticks’ clinical law advisory team. Peter specialises in advising on healthcare law issues and acting on behalf of defendants in clinical negligence claims. His areas of expertise include data protection and freedom of information as well as medico-legal issues; in particular human rights, mental health and consent to treatment cases. Peter also advises healthcare bodies to manage serious incidents arising out of patient care.
Career
Qualified and worked as an NHS doctor before taking up law. Trained at Capsticks, qualified 1996; made partner in 2000; appointed deputy chairman of the Information Tribunal 2005. Publications: ‘Introduction to Medical Law’ (2000) Butterworth-Heinemann.
