Career

Katarzyna Dulewicz is a legal advisor and a Partner at CMS Poland where she leads the Commercial, Regulatory and Dispute Resolution Department. She is also a Head of Employment Group in CMS Poland and co-ordinates the CMS Employment Practice throughout Central and Eastern Europe. She has been co-operating with the firm since 1997.

Katarzyna specialises in employment, commercial and civil law issues. On a day-to-day basis, she provides a wide range of legal counselling on all aspects of labour law. She advises on restructuring employment, executive recruitment and termination, incentive compensation programmes and trade union issues. She has outstanding experience in advising on all aspects of labour law in connection with capital transactions (transfer of employees).

International publishing houses Chambers Europe and Legal 500 recommend Katarzyna as an outstanding specialist in the field of labour law and employee benefits.

She regularly publishes commentaries on issues related to labour law in the press (“Dziennik – Gazeta Prawna” and “Rzeczpospolita” dailies) and on television.

  • Access to justice: protective costs orders in planning challenges

    Third parties and competing developers have no rights of appeal to the Secretary of State against planning decisions. Disappointed applicants can appeal to the Secretary of State and can have the merits of the application reconsidered. The only remedy available to a disappointed third party is a challenge by way of judicial review in the High Court on a point of law. The sense of frustration and disempowerment this creates has not been helped by the increasing complexity of the planning process and the use of consultation to legitimise decisions that many perceive may already have been taken.
