Position

Specialized in Commercial, Corporate , Oil & Gas, Electricity. He has been counsel to a major Oil & Gas company in Bolivia where he was part of the negotiation team of the New Hydrocarbon Operation Contracts with the Bolivia Government, for a value of US$ 600 million. During that process he also participated in the Due Diligence of 24 Joint Ventures Contracts for the exploration and exploitation blocks. During his practice Mr. Costa du Rels been very active in Mergers and Acquisitions, has participated in the drafting of the merger and purchase agreements in connection with the acquisition of four major Bolivian construction companies owned by a New Zealand Conglomerate. He has also been involved in the Merger between two major upstream hydrocarbons companies and the Merger of the Bolivian subsidiaries of the world's major crop protection products' manufacturers.

Indacochea & Asociados, Associate 1999-2003, General Counsel PPL Bolivia 2003-2005. In 2005 founded the firm WürthKimCostaduRels, where he currently is Partner. Since 2004 he has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Bolivian American Chamber of Commerce Inc. based in New York. He also serves on the board of directors for Ferroviaria Oriental S.A.

Fernando Bedoya leads on much of the firm’s transactional caseload, and also focuses on foreign investment-related matters; Karla Würth has strong experience in the energy and –particularly- infrastructure sectors; and Mauricio Costa du Rels is also an experienced transactional lawyer with extensive knowledge of the oil-and-gas sector. Recent matters saw Costa du Rels lead advice to Catering International Services on bids with YPFB and Samsung, and advise Grupo Corimon on a partnership agreement with Grupo Tuma. Other mandates involved transactional matters (including due diligence, data rooms, SPAs and associated negotiations), reorganizations and regulatory advice; the team is also adroit at helping foreign investors do business in Bolivia, assisting clients with corporate governance issues, and advising companies on a range of international commerce matters, including imports, exports and free trade zones. Mauricio Costa du Rels is recommended for his corporate, transactional and contractual expertise in relation to electricity and oil and gas; and Fernando Bedoya also has experience in corporate transactions in the sector.
