Dispute resolution

Within: Dispute resolution

Jiménez Cruz Peña’s contentious practice is led jointly by labour litigator Rosa Díaz and international arbitrator Marcos Peña. Domestic and international private and state-owned companies instruct the team on a range of disputes, particularly in real estate and tourism; regulated sectors such as energy and telecoms are also a core strength. In the commercial litigation space, José Cruz acted for Baterías Dominicanas in a $900,000 case regarding the wrongful termination of a distribution agreement, as well as defending EnviroGold against a $1.5m claim brought by a local subcontractor regarding work done on the Las Lagunas project. American Airlines, Bellón and the Washington Nationals are also clients. Additional areas of activity, recently, include sports arbitration, investment arbitration, contentious insurance claims and criminal defamation.
