GENI & KEBE Responds to Questions from British Business Delegation

May 2012

Investment UK- Francophone Africa

A British business delegation conducted by the UK Minister for Africa visited Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire from 07 to 09 May 2012. They met with several actors from the public and private sectors.

In Senegal the delegates had a session with the GENI & KEBE team and were briefed on potential opportunities and barriers to do business in Senegal and West Francophone Africa.

The session was held in the British Embassy in Senegal on 7 may 2012.

A presentation made by Mouhamed KEBE, Managing Partner of GENI & KEBE addressed the investment climate in Senegal and the Francophone African region.

Several questions including but not limited to the mining sector, the Investment Code, the OHADA legal system were discussed during the session.

    Senegalese and British Governments have just completed their second round of negotiations for the signature of a double taxation agreement.
The draft Agreement is currently under study by the tax authorities of the two countries and should be signed at the end of 2013.

  • TAX REFORM IN SENEGAL

    Senegal has enacted a new tax legislation with important reforms. The reforms involve corporate income tax, individual income tax, vat in the farming sector, tax in the transfer of property, tax on increase share capital etc. The new code will be in force on January 2013.
