He advises and counsels local and foreign companies on mining, environmental and hydrocarbon aspects, including issues related to contract law, administrative law, public international law and constitutional law in that connection. He advised both mining projects and operating mines. He has participated in several acquisitions, negotiations, and assignments of rights and mining properties, including due diligence and title assessment, draft and analysis of contracts, preparation of Feasibility Studies, permit proceedings and formalities, and follow-up thereof, defense of vested rights and promotional systems, among others. He has also actively participated in and collaborated with the design and preparation of promotional and environmental rules and regulations both at federal and provincial level. Furthermore, he has served as environmental auditor and has participated on investigations in the compliance department of certain mining companies. He has vast experience in providing advice and counsel for binational projects between Argentina and Chile, in connection with both mining, and traffic and road aspects.

Recent work includes advising First Quantum Minerals’ local subsidiary, Corriente Argentina, on the environmental permitting process for the construction of the Taca Taca mining project.

The group acts for an impressive portfolio of major mining companies, with First Quantum Minerals and Yamana Gold featuring among the key names. Most notably, the firm provides ongoing advice to Barrick Gold, and its subsidiaries, on day-to-day matters in Argentina; among its recent work for the Canadian mining giant was advice on the $960m sale of a 50% stake in its Veladero mine to Shandong Gold Mining.
