Fernanda Kotzias has experience with Customs Law and International Trade, acting on trade defense with emphasis on anti-dumping, subsidies and safeguards investigations conducted by the Brazilian Department of Trade Remedies (Departamento de Defesa Comercial - DECOM) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Ministério do Desenvolvimento, Indústria e Comércio Exterior - MDIC).

Her field of activity also includes issues related to the tariff classification of goods, tariff and technical barriers to trade, drawback and import tariff reductions under the ex-tarifario mechanism, import/export tax planning, customs disputes, rules of origin, bilateral and regional trade agreements and World Trade Organization (WTO) law.

Veirano Advogados covers the gamut of international trade, with vast experience representing diverse parties in trade and customs proceedings, including representing Brazilian interests in trade remedy proceedings in foreign jurisdictions. The team also stands out for the strength of its WTO practice. In recent work, practice head Ana Caetano represented Pirelli in a public interest proceeding concerning anti-dumping duties on imports of emulsion-styrene butadiene rubber (E-SBR) from the EU. Supported by associate Fernanda Kotzias, she also assisted the Brazilian electrical and electronics industry association ABINEE in disputes brought by Japan and the EU. Gustavo Boni dos Santos left for Machado Associados in 2017 and senior associate Ana Luiza Sanches moved to Mattos Engelberg Advogados in July 2018.
