Career

Ceri was admitted as an attorney in 1988. She is an experienced High Court Magistrate Court litigator and has Family Law experience throughout her career. She practised Employment Law for some years, but reverted to her field of primary interest, Family Law, when she became a partner at Bowman Gilfillan in 2004. She has practised exclusively Family Law since. Ceri's primary focus is on disvorces, but she has experience in all related fields including maintanance, custody, domestic violence, international child abduction and relocation matters and the drafting of ante-nuptial contracts and co-habitation agreements. Another field of particular interets is the rights of children and the parents of children born out of wedlock, and Ceri has successfully represented fathers and mothers in securing rights to and such children. Ceri is a qualified Divorce Mediator and strives to resolve as many divorces as possible using the amicable and cost effective mediation route. Acting as a senior examiner for the for the Attorney's Admission Examinations and providing pro bono services to animal welfare organisations keeps Ceri busy extra-murally, and she was also a Small Claims Court Commisioner for a number of years. She appears regularly on the television show "Rights and Recourse" advising on family law matters.
