Faye Moffett is the Managing Partner of the Isle of Man office, Group Head of the Corporate department and Team Leader for the Banking and Asset Finance team, in the Isle of Man.

She specialises in general banking and finance transactions, including property finance, aircraft and ship finance matters. She has particular experience in providing opinions on Isle of Man companies and on cross­border security and insolvency issues.  Clients include Isle of Man companies, international financial institutions and international law firms.She is a notary public. 

Some recent examples of representative work include acting: as lender counsel in connection with a USD2.9 billion loan to Amaya Gaming Group Inc and its related companies; for Manx Telecom on its refinancing of the group in connection with its flotation on AIM; in connection with the financing of a major technology firm involving facilities of circa 300m USD advice was required in the Isle of Man and Guernsey.


Qualified as an advocate in the Isle of Man 1997; solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales (non-practising) 1999; admitted as a solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands) 2010. Partner Appleby 2006.

On the financial side, counsel Tom Brook was part of the team acting for a major bank in its loan to a foreign fund in the context of a high-value, high-profile property acquisition in Douglas. Also notable is Claire Milne, who assisted a local bank with the assignment of a long-term lease for its premises as part of its winding-down proceedings and exit from the market.

Faye Moffett acted for a venture capital firm in its share restructuring, including buy-backs, the issuing of new share classes and increasing its authorised capital capacity; a housing group also engaged her to handle its acquisition of shares in an Isle of Man company. Appleby has a strong record advising clients on loan agreements and security documents, leasing issues, and the sale and acquisition of vessels. A team led by practice head Faye Moffett and including counsel Andrew Webb and associate Alexandra Dernie recently acted for a major global bank on the financing of the purchase of an Isle of Man-registered aircraft; counsel Robyn Wood assisted a bank with the ship security and registry issues arising from its merger with a number of its subsidiaries.
