Christopher Torres concentrates his practice on toxic tort defense, aggregate litigation, environmental litigation, land use litigation, complex commercial litigation, and white collar litigation. Previously, Chris has represented clients in the areas of securities litigation and enforcement, general commercial litigation, land use litigation, white collar litigation, and appeals. Chris also has experience in the areas of corporate and securities law where he has advised boards of directors on corporate governance issues and contests for corporate control, represented companies in mergers and acquisitions, represented investors and companies in private equity investments, and developed prospective securities litigation strategies. Before relocating to Tampa, Chris practiced at two prominent Boston law firms.

The department at Greenberg Traurig LLP represents manufacturers in product liability, class action and mass tort litigation in the chemical products and environmental tort areas. In Tampa, practice head David Weinstein and Christopher Torres continue to defend Mosaic Fertilizer in several environmental lawsuits, including a putative class action arising from a 65m gallon release of process water during hurricane Frances. Chicago-based Francis Citera leads the defense of Lockheed Martin against personal injury and property damage claims, allegedly resulting from the contamination of the residential well water in Wedron, Illinois. David Mandelbaum in Philadelphia co-chairs the firm’s environmental practice with New York-based Steven Russo. Glatfelter and Tri-Realty are also clients of the firm.
