Adam Hemlock represents clients in a variety of antitrust and commercial litigation matters. He represents clients in US criminal cartel investigations, as well as follow-on class actions and coordination of international government investigations. He also regularly represents clients with respect to the intersection of antitrust and intellectual property, including standard setting, patent pooling and other technology licensing, technology joint ventures, and copyright issues. He an adjunct professor of law at Columbia Law School.

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP’s cartel team, which is jointly led by New York-based duo Steven Reiss and Adam Hemlock, covers a broad spread of cartel defense work for companies and individuals in industries such as aviation, consumer electronics and automotive, among others. In addition to handling DOJ-led criminal antitrust investigations, the group assists clients with investigations in the EU and elsewhere around the world as well as in related civil litigation. The group’s experience includes matters involving issues such as bid-rigging, market allocation and price-fixing.

At Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, Adam Hemlock and Steven Reiss are representing Japanese auto parts manufacturer Calsonic Kansei in eight MDL class actions in the US, and oversee its strategy in the international aspects of matters in Canada, Japan, Europe and Brazil. Kevin Arquit and Washington DC-based Carrie Mahan are representing Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation (the second-largest poultry producer in the US) in federal antitrust class actions brought by direct and indirect purchasers in Re Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation, and by purported classes of broiler growers in Re Broiler Chicken Grower Antitrust Litigation. Eric Hochstadt and David Lender are representing C&S Wholesale Grocers in an MDL connected with an alleged market allocation conspiracy with Supervalu. Arquit is global co-head of the antitrust practice, along with Washington DC-based Steven Newborn. Named individuals are based in New York, except where otherwise stated.
