Eve England is a principal associate in our commercial contracts group. She specialises in general contracts law, intellectual property, data protection, IT and consumer protection law.

Eve is a member of the Eversheds financial services sector team and advises financial institutions on a range of commercial and consumer related matters. Eve has recently undertaken recent secondments at retail banking institutions. In addition, Eve has particular expertise in LNG sector, having undertaking a 2 year secondment with an LNG terminal in the UK and advising other international LNG terminals in connection with their corporate procurement contracts.

Eve is also a key member of the Eversheds’ Consumer Law Group, and advises clients on all matters concerning their relationships with individual consumes. Eve contributes regularly to consumer law briefings and articles, and has written an article on consumer law published in the Westlaw Insight Encyclopaedia.

Eve is a regular speaker at Eversheds’ In House Counsel Seminars on commercial contracts and consumer topics and presents on IT law and data protection subjects at IT:AM Seminars. Eve also provides bespoke training to clients in connection with commercial contract and consumer law matters

Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP has an excellent reputation advising local and national entities from the financial services, defence and TMT sectors, across a range of work including software licensing issues, e-commerce and outsourcing projects. Team head Matthew Gough has a  particular specialism advising on fintech matters, both in terms of the contractual issues associated with new products developed by financial institutions, as well as assisting on due diligence in relation to M&A handled by the firm in the sector. Along with principal associate Eve England, Gough also spearheads the firm's consumer law offering, and as well as their fee-earning work for clients (particularly in relation to support and advice on the IT systems used in connection with consumer contracts), both lawyers are members of the Law Society's reference group on the government’s consumer law reforms and are regularly called upon to provide input on proposed legislative changes in the area. England was also recently seconded to fast-growing technology-focused taxi group, Veezu Holdings, and provided advice to it across a wide range of IT contracts. Other clients include The National Grid, Schools Software Solutions, Scansource Europe and Nationwide Building Society.

Led by Matthew Gough, Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP's two-partner team has a focus on handling non-contentious IP matters, including advice for IP-rich companies on the commercialisation and protection of their intellectual property rights (IPR), as well as assisting the firm's corporate lawyers on IP due diligence on M&A transactions handled by the firm. Gough is well-versed at handling commercial contract work and continues to represent Schools Software Solutions on app development and the attendant licensing agreements. Principal associate Eve England has significant IP experience in the digital space and also excels at advising clients on consumer law-related IP issues. England was recently seconded to fast growing technology-rich Welsh taxi company, Veezu, where she has handled a wide range of commercial and IP work for it, including on copyright matters and advising on new IP licensing and development agreements. Other clients include Admiral Insurance, Places for People Group and Liverpool Victoria.
