Emma specialises in pensions law, advising trustees and corporates on a wide range of issues including liability risk reduction for legacy defined benefit pension schemes, consolidating pension arrangements and advising on auto enrolment requirements. 

Emma originally trained as a litigator retains an interest in disputes.  She advises on Pension Ombudsman cases, deals with court applications including professional negligence claims and handles representative beneficiary cases.  She also deals with matters that come before the Pensions Regulator.

Emma is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and sits on its Pensions Litigation sub committee.  She is a regular speaker at seminars.

Emma is recommended by Chambers and Partners as "impressing clients with her pragmatic and personalised advice".

Emma King leads the team and recently advised the trustee of the Box Clever Group Pension Scheme on an appeal from ITV against a financial support direction issued against its scheme. Gary Delderfield heads the public sector pensions team and assisted Borders to Coast Pensions Partnership on bringing forth its £36 billion Border to Coast LGPS investment pool, and advised on the establishment of Brunel Pensions Partnership as one of the eight LGPS investment pools. Liz Fallon focuses on international matters (particularly EU-related ). Sarah Franklin  advised Calor Pension Trust on GDPR compliance and HMRC’s new anti-money laundering requirements. Georgina Rankin is also a key figure, with extensive experience in advising corporate sponsors and trustees of occupational pension schemes.
