Sarah is a partner in our Pensions Group.  She specialises in advising corporate sponsors and trustees on a wide range of issues relevant to defined benefit plans including deficit management strategies and innovative restructuring solutions.

Sarah is recognised in Legal 500 as "providing clear and pragmatic advice".

Sarah's recent experience includes:

  • Advising on the pension aspects of a disposal of non-core businesses within an international multi-utility group.
  • Establishing a Common Investment Fund for a complex pension plan consisting of multiple arrangements. 
  • Advising on the restructuring issues associated with an innovative planned entry of a pension plan to the Pension Protection Fund. 

Sarah is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and is a regular speaker at seminars and training events.

Emma King leads the team and recently advised the trustee of the Box Clever Group Pension Scheme on an appeal from ITV against a financial support direction issued against its scheme. Gary Delderfield heads the public sector pensions team and assisted Borders to Coast Pensions Partnership on bringing forth its £36 billion Border to Coast LGPS investment pool, and advised on the establishment of Brunel Pensions Partnership as one of the eight LGPS investment pools. Liz Fallon focuses on international matters (particularly EU-related ). Sarah Franklin  advised Calor Pension Trust on GDPR compliance and HMRC’s new anti-money laundering requirements. Georgina Rankin is also a key figure, with extensive experience in advising corporate sponsors and trustees of occupational pension schemes. Also recommended is principal associate Gavin Paul, who is experienced in handling rules drafting, scheme mergers and disputes.
