Mark advises further and higher education institutions on commercial issues, mergers, corporate transactions and constitutional reviews.

Mark's recent experience includes advising higher education institutions on changes to their governance, including amendments to Royal Charter, Memoranda and Articles of Association and Instrument and Articles.

Around half of Mark's work involves advising UK based institutions on overseas collaborations varying from validation or consultancy arrangements to overseas campuses and double degree agreements. Mark drafted part of the guide which Eversheds produced to international collaborations for Universities UK.

Mark advises higher and further education institutions on all kinds of mergers, group structures, collaborative working and service sharing.

Mark is a regular speaker at sector conferences and client training events on commercial, corporate, governance and student issues.

Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP is led by Diane Gilhooley , who is particularly strong on employment and governance matters. Glynne Stanfield  is an expert in education mergers and recently advised a 6th form college in Hampshire on its conversion to academy status. Nicola Bennison  is an expert in student-related issues and assisted the National College for High Speed Rail with procurement, pensions, governance and staffing issues, relating to the client’s new mobilisation programme. Mark Taylor was made partner in 2017, and advises on corporate, commercial and governance issues. Recent work highlights of his include advising Nottingham College on the financing behind its new build project in Nottingham City Centre.
