Tawfiq is the Managing Partner of the Jordan and Iraq offices. He is the founder of the Iraq office and co-founder of the Jordan office.

Tawfiq specialises in corporate and commercial law as well as regulatory reform and litigation. Tawfiq has advised on a wide range of corporate transactions, including corporate structures and joint ventures investments including assisting clients with selecting the most suitable corporate entities for their operations, as well as advising on issues relating to foreign investment, investment promotion, intellectual property, labour law, contract law, competition law, and microfinance regulation.

Tawfiq was educated at the University of London, UK and obtained a Masters in Law (LLM) from Fordham University School of Law, New York. He is a member of the Jordan Bar Association. Tawfiq is fluent in both Arabic and English.

Sanad Law Group in association with Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP provides corporate and commercial advice to major names in the oil and gas sectors including international oil companies and oilfield services firms as well as contractors and has a strong litigation practice. The team is led by managing partner Tawfiq Tabbaa, who divides his time between Iraq and Jordan, and recently advised Gazprom Neft Badra on various contractual matters pertaining to its operation at the Badra oilfield. Other clients include Lukoil and PetroChina. The latter instructed the team with regulatory issues.

The team is experienced in local litigation and its international links are a key asset in major arbitrations. Recent work includes representing The Weir Group in a supply dispute with a local Jordanian company. It also acted for Agrico in a dispute concerning potato seeds sold to two Jordanian companies.
